“Bloom of the Unseen”というタイトルにもつながる、イタリアで1960年代に興ったアルテ・ポーヴェラが大切にした「自然が生む形象のありのままの力強さ」とも呼応する一冊。

肌のシミや動物の斑点、花の模様。生命の痕跡であり、自然との関わりの中でうまれる根源的な美しさである。素朴こそが豊かさであり、飾らないもの。完全に整った秩序ではなく、かといって無秩序でもない。その織りなすゆらぎを有機的に表現している。

This book looks at “spots” as one of the simplest and most universal patterns that appear when life interacts with its surroundings.

The title, Bloom of the Unseen, is inspired by “Arte Povera”, an Italian art movement from the late ’60s that focused on the raw beauty of natural materials.

Spots on skin, markings on animals, patterns on flowers are traces of life, a fundamental beauty born from our relationship with nature.Following that idea, the book keeps things simple on purpose. It isn’t perfectly neat or totally messy, it’s meant to feel natural, with an organic rhythm that sits somewhere in between.
